We are a community, faith and value-based network
empowering Mothers

Collective knowledge and experience is the catalyst for personal growth, family stability and societal change.

National Unity Circle Mother's Alliance, Inc.

About Us

In 1996 we recruited African American and Latina mothers with 11, 12, and 13-year old daughters, to participate in the National Association of Mothers’ Center (1975), conference planning committee. The conference would focus on mother-daughter relationship building across cultures.  Mother-daughter cohorts would continue to grow throughout Long Island, New York.

Originating in 1998 as a Call to Action after the historical Million Woman March (1997, Philadelphia PA), the Unity Circle Mothers’ Center emerged with a dual goal, emphasizing the preservation and holistic approach to self-care for mothers; lend support for the role of mothering to foster whole-family development.

The on-line environment is a safe place to address issues that may be challenging to a new mother, or those with special circumstances.  The NUCMA structured curriculums are inclusive, diversifying how to practice Mother Care during a child’s 0-3 development stages; complete with a Black Lives Matter Parenting Teens Series (BLMTS).

02

Group Sessions

NUCMA asserts a continuum of care concept for prevention education. Internet intervention is accessed through referrals. Local affiliates can coordinate group sessions with healthcare providers, licensed clinical professionals, tele-therapists and a variety of specialty presenters.  Affiliates have the option of participating in monthly virtual team leadership sessions.

03

Network for Fathers

By Men for Men introduce fathers to a private on-line presence for men who are parenting in a union, as a single father or as a co-parent. A monthly on-line chat with fathers empowers them to solidify the family foundation, advocate for their rights as fathers, and improve parenting skills. The D.A.D.S. initiative is a support network for Teen fathers with a unique set of interests.

Work and Family Balance Seminars

Mothers and all parents alike must continue to do their best to manage the balance beam of home life and work life, even in the aftermath of the Covid-19 Pandemic.  Businesses are reopening, but a large percentage of Mothers are still working from home.  Whether a school district has decided to offer partial classes on site for students or not, Mom will have to make the adjustment.

TIPS:

Communicate with your employer and your child’s school in order to set priorities, for completing tasks in a timely manner.

Create a work schedule that aligns with the school schedule for daily activities.

Remind your business associates that you are committed to your work yet may need to make adjustments throughout the day, to fulfill your commitment.

Share lunch breaks with your child if you are home schooling.

Split lunch time with a movement or gaming activity before your child

Time management at home is as equally important

Incorporate self-care to reduce stress, such as exercise, food intake, proper rest.
